to the stars through difficulty

ABOUT ME
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my heart's passion is coming alongside clients who have experienced trauma, wounding, disconnection from identity, major life changes, grief, and relationship difficulties. It is truly an honor to sit with client's as they wrestle with some of the difficulties created by the human experience.

I received a Masters of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University and have fulfilled all qualifications to be a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kansas.

I have experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I am also an active member, in good standing, with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, meaningful conversations with friends and family, reading, fishing, hiking, playing the piano, exploring the beautiful city of Kansas City... among other things this beautiful life has to offer.
Ad Astra Per Aspera
Ad Astra Per Aspera is the state motto of Kansas and a latin phrase that translates "to the stars through difficulty".

I find this phrase so meaningful because it acknowledges the hardship AND the hopefulness. The human experience is one that inherently involves difficulty. It is common to want to push it away, ignore it, cover it up with something else, but these ways of coping often lead us to more suffering. Counterintuitively the way out is THROUGH.

Ad Astra Therapy exists to offer you a safe, accepting, supportive environment as you move through your own difficulty and into the infinite possibility of your life and relationships.

Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges.

-
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost.
-
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
-
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical test, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
-
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
-
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or to more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
These are the codes I will be using for Good Faith Estimates:
